Something that these people below define most precisely by their situation and deeds which no dictionary in words can ever define.

#1. John Carpenter

Meet John Carpenter.

The first person to win the million dollars on Who wants to be a Millionaire.

You know what makes him a badass.

He didn't use a single lifeline up until the last question. Yes all his lifelines were still left when he faced the million dollar question.

He was answering all the questions in a jiffy. It was as if he knew the answer to everything. The host himself was baffled by the ease with which John was cruising through the game.

He answered the half a million question in under 5 seconds, 3 of which he used in smiling at the host.

But he wasn't done. The grand finale was yet to come.

His last question was,

Which of these US presidents appeared on the Television series “Laugh-in”?

He frowned. The crowd held their breath in anticipation. The host kneeled in. Pin drop silence. Tension all over.

Finally John says, “I will use the phone-a-friend”.

The host was visibly amused and chuckled at the thought that finally a question came up which had John in trouble. The audience cheered.

“Who'd you like to call”. Asked the Host with a smile.

“My Father”. John replied.

Call connects to John's father. The host gives his dad the instructions about the time. Then he says, “John, you have 30 seconds. Your time starts now”.

What would you expect? The person to shoot up the question and the options as fast as he can and wait for the answer, right?

That ain't the thug life, man!

This is what John Carpenter said on the phone to his dad

Hey dad. How are you? I don't need your help in the final question. I just wanted to tell you that I'm going to be a Millionaire.

He then looked at the host who sat with his jaw in his lap and smiled.

He then continued and said, “I'm going to be a Millionaire because the US president who appeared on “Laugh In” is Richard Nixon and that is my final answer.”

#2. Corporal Shailabh Gaur

During the terror attack on Pathankot Air Force base which was suspected to destroy the high-end fighter jets, attack helicopters and missiles stationed there, we came across a real badass hero.

You may also call him the real life Wolverine who survived through all the 6 bullets that hit him while he was defending the base from being attacked by the terrorist along with 11 other soldiers.

He did his best when he had had no hopes of surviving and his deeds along with all the other soldiers helped India escape one major loss.

We thought that such things can happen only in movies and then this man came and proved us wrong at once. He's a hero in real sense.

#3. The Suicide-Squad of Chernobyl.

Three men swam through the radioactive water to prevent nuclear breakdown.

On the evening of 2nd May,1986, a huge explosion devastated the Lenin nuclear power plant at Chernobyl, a city in Ukraine near the border with Belarus, spewing massive amount of radioactive substances into the environment.

The death toll was unknown and rumored to be around one thousand.

During the catastrophe, a pool of water used for emergencies in case of a break in the cooling pumps or steam pipes became flooded with a highly radioactive liquid that was in danger of blowing up which could endanger the lives of millions in or around the city and bring havoc to the stability of the environment.

While the city was in the state of panic, three brave men named Alexi Ananenko, Valeri Bezpoalov and Boris Baronov volunteered to clean up aware of the fact that it’s a suicide mission.

They suited up in scuba suit(as in the image shown above) and swam across the radioactive water to reach the basement of the chamber and successfully opened the gate valve allowing the contaminated water to drain out.

Days after reaching the surface all three men succumbed to radiation poisoning and were buried in lead coffins. If not for the bravery of the “Chernobyl Suicide Squad” a thermal explosion would have taken place resulting in unfathomable disaster.

#4. Dani Alves

We all know this guy, this is Dani Alves, former Barcelona full back, currently plying his trade at Serie A champions Juventus.

During a match against La Liga side Villarreal CF, Dani went up to take the corner.

And the Villarreal fans behind him threw a banana at him as a racist jibe, basically calling him a monkey.

So, instead of getting angry and retaliating, what does Dani do?

He picks up the banana and eats it.

Now that's pretty badass if you ask me and a tight slap to all the racist pricks around the world.

#5. Poor and Weak?

What would you do if you are a poor, uneducated farmer and a multi-million dollar company came in and permanently destroyed your land by dumping toxic chemical waste into it?

This amazing David vs Goliath story is from China.

In 2001, the Qinghua Group, a state-owned mining company worth more than $200 million released 20,000 tonnes of chemical waste from a polyvinyl chloride plant into a village called Yushutun that depended entirely on farming.

The company filled a 478-acre pond with liquid waste and destroyed an additional 71 acres of land by dumping calcium carbide onto it.

So what does he do?

He starts a 16-year long journey of studying the law all by himself.

Being only educated for a sum total of three years in his life and dropping out thereafter, Wang faced a huge challenge.

He did not have enough money to buy the costly tomes that were law books, so he hit the library with a dictionary and began learning. He would initially copy out notes on his hand and would pay the librarian with sacks of corn in return for his services.

In 2007, a law firm, learning about Wang’s endeavor, began giving him legal advice pro bono. Armed with accumulating knowledge of the law, he directed his neighbors and fellow villagers to collect evidence and document it.

When he began frequenting courts with his new found skill and the evidence, he was at first ignored, but he persisted. It took about eight years for the case to finally merit consideration and in early February 2017, the Angangxi District Court of Qiqihar ruled that each of the families in Yushutun village would receive a financial compensation of $111,500.

Unfortunately, as legal battles go, the company was quoted as deciding to file an appeal in a higher court and this may drag out some years, but there isn’t any reason to believe Wang and his people will not succeed.

Even if in a nominal sense, an uneducated village simpleton had brought down a huge organization with all its legal might and its nonpareil team of lawyers to its knees.

#6. Tank Man

He literally stood in front of tanks the morning after the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, where the Chinese military had suppressed the crowds through force.

He was a 19 year old student named Wang Weilin. A nineteen year old, probably weighing in at around 80–90 kg and made of tissue and bone, standing in front of a Chinese tank, weighing in at around 50–60 metric tons and made of tough, sturdy metal.

Now that is pretty badass.

#7. Luke Aikins

His name is LUKE AIKINS

Bio- Luke aikins is a professional American skydiver, base jumper, pilot and aerial photographer. He has coached US Navy seals and is also a safety and training advisor for the United States parachute association.

He has completed more than 18,000 jumps since he started skydiving at the age of 12.

What makes him a badass?

HEAVEN SENT

On July 30, 2016, Aikins jumped from an aircraft without any parachute or wingsuit at an altitude of 25,000 feet (7,620 m) above simi valley, California watched by a live audience.

After about two minutes of free fall he successfully landed in a 100-by-100-foot net. Aikins reached a terminal velocity of 120 miles per hour (193 km/h) during that fall.

HE IS THE FIRST PERSON TO SKYDIVE WITHOUT A PARACHUTE AND SURVIVE..

If this isn't badass I don't know what is.
