Engineering isn't for you

Having studied engineering and studies related to it for 4 years in my time, one thing for people studying this without their own will for sure is, YOU SCREWED UP.
Mathematics interesting as it is dreadful for people hating it, Physics amazing as it is, scornful for people not loving it, Chemistry inviting as it is, mugging up food for people not realizing it. These three subjects are basic pillars of engineering and getting into any engineering institute is solely based on performance in these subjects in your schooling years. IIT, NIT, IIIT, BITS the four dream colleges of many parents- hey! I said parents, well yeah, parents because students who are not interested in engineering are generally not caring for colleges they get into.

The only things that bothers me is that why, why would anyone choose engineering instead of his own interest in maybe commerce, maybe arts, maybe sports or maybe medical, but medical is unlikely to be a choice because if that were the case, parents would have whole-heartedly supported the decision. Also why the one who is dreaming about marine engineering his whole life will take up mechanical engineering at the very end of making choice.

In India we have almost 1.2 million or more students opting for engineering and giving JEE Main (the primary exam for engineering students in India). If you don't know about JEE you may want to read here first. Out of these 1.2 million students, a handful of students move to NITs and IIITs and IITs after qualifying to JEE Advanced.
The intriguing point here is that are there these many aspiring engineers in India?
Well, practically yes and logically no.
Among these so called "future engineers" are aspiring actors, budding sport-persons, creative content-makers, exclusive writers and many more such faces. But all these are crushed under the fact that their parents and society want them to study at IIT, get job and 2 Crore+ package. The world isn't fair, is it?

So am I delivering the notion that engineering is hopeless thing to pursue and totally mindless persuasion of parents get all students to study it? Well, not exactly. Many students go for engineering branch and stream with their own will and that's the biggest thing that counts. It is their own mindset and their own free will to go for this and eventually these are those students who ace JEE and their stream which they take because they are genuinely are taking up the course with their own interest. Let's all face it nobody is same, one man's food may be poison for other. So thinking that because these students who are acing JEE and getting jobs in MNCs after getting into IITs is what will concern your own children and hence pressurizing them to take up engineering will get them where those students are, is really a novice thought.
Putting burden of your own thoughts and expectations on the children is not the thing that will make them move forward but make them fall back. Life is not easy for anyone- not the engineers, not the cricketers, not the footballers, not the dancers, not the musicians, not the business-men practically nobody. Everybody has to work hard for the dreams they want to make true and one will only strive to make those dreams true that he/she has seen himself and not of the others. Let students explore their own interest, explore their own traits, explore themselves and let them be whatever they want. If they work hard for the thing they want to go for, success will definitely greet them.

Computer Science and engineering.
Electrical engineering.
Mechanical engineering.

Civil engineering.
Aeronautical engineering.
Chemical engineering.

Biotechnology.
Genetic engineering.
Mining/Environmental engineering.
etc.

Green colored branches are the most sought engineering branches in present times.  Orange ones are those that are second choices of people if they are unable to get the green ones. Red ones are those people in India are especially not concerned about.
Reason, you ask?
Money, Fame and Number of students taking up the course. The third one is recurring loop (pun for computer geeks or engineers) because one group of students took those branches, followed by next year group of students who were followed by the next year group of students and so on. Parents in our society and even most of the society is too much judgemental. How?

Neighbor: Huh, so you took up genetic engineering at IIT? Beta (son) you chose the wrong one, were you not getting any top branch like mechanical? No future scope in this.
Son: Uncle, I was too much passionate about genetic engineering, I was so much curious about these things and that made me to shift my choice from civil to genetic. I was also getting civil but I chose this one.
Neighbor: Oh my god, beta what a big mistake have you done, you will not get any jobs in future and such engineers become taxi or rickshaw drivers. You should have taken up civil. My uncle's, aunty's, niece's, son's, brother's, sister's, father's son had taken up civil and now he earn $100,000 per year.
Son: But uncle see for yourself google states that jobs and earning are pretty nice.

Neighbor: Beta, you don't know anything google misguides students like you, nothing you know about life and civil branch. Good luck for future anyways, I'll always pray for you.
Son:

So this is the excerpt and reason for most of the students who are interested in engineering but not in those Green branches, taking up those as they are forced to by the parents, society and these judgemental neighbors.
God Neighbors have mercy on their souls.

This is what society has come up to. Now it is for you to decide, whether you have to care for so much "CARING" neighbors, society and repent your whole life and curse yourselves in the end at the hospital bed you are lied on or you have to think for yourself, take up the stream of your choice and prove the world that you are talented in whatever you are doing and make your life the dream you have always been dreaming.
PEOPLE ARE ONLY PAID MORE, FOR THE WORK THEY ARE GOOD AT AND NOT THE WORK THEY ARE MADE TO DO.

John Carpenter Meet John Carpenter.     The first person to win the million dollars on Who wants to be a Millionaire. You know what makes him a badass. He didn't use a single lifeline up until the last question. Yes all his lifelines were still left when he faced the million dollar question. He was answering all the questions in a jiffy. It was as if he knew the answer to everything. The host himself was baffled by the ease with which John was cruising through the game.  He answered the half a million question in under 5 seconds, 3 of which he used in smiling at the host. But he wasn't done. The grand finale was yet to come. His last question was, Which of these US presidents appeared on the Television series “Laugh-in”? He frowned. The crowd held their breath in anticipation
